Birthday Present Number 1 of 49878484

Well, it goes without saying that Kara will be getting too much for her birthday next week. I can't help it. She's too gorgeous not to spoil :P. I also feel that she's had a shit of a year and deserves to be spoilt BIG time for her special day.

Present number 1 arrived today. It's an enclosed trampoline and my first suggestion if you are getting one ~ get help to assemble it LMAO. It took me just over 3 hours and my hands are blistered from pulling the bloody springs. I did have 2 helpers ~ Kara and Olivia ~ and after feeling like a cow for saying that Kara couldn't jump in it until her birthday, I caved and they had a ball!!!!

8 more sleeps and my baby is 5. Still in denial.....

A Perfect Day!

Kara and I had the BEST day today ~ you know those days when you just enjoy your child sooo much you want to constantly squeeze them? LOL

We went to Monarto Zoo ~ a free range zoo 50 kms from Adelaide and we hadn't been there for a couple of years. We had grand plans to go last week but I got that horrid migraine so we postponed ~ I'm sooooo glad we did now, because today was the perfect day for it. Kara just loved it to bits and had so much fun.

The highlight of the day was hand feeding the giraffes ~ I have taken about 150 photos (literally) of them but will stick to posting a couple here :P Kara was beside herself ~ she was beaming. She then insisted on riding a camel LMAO ~ all was good until she got on and the panic set. I ended up joining her and she was rapt ~ apparently we're going back in a couple of weeks for a longer ride!

I am just loving having a weekend with my girl ~ it makes soooo much difference and gives us the chance to do these types of things together. I feel like I want to pause life at the moment and keep Kara as a 4 year old just a little longer....time is just going way too fast for my liking.

A Lily Update LOL

I'm sure you're all really needing to know this pmsl.

A couple of days ago, Kara screamed out "Lily's dead", Lily being our stick insect. I went to check and Lily appeared to be sitting on a branch, not looking very well LMAO. Then, I noticed Lily was actually on the ground.... she had shed her skin and the perfect shape was left behind. It was a little freaky actually. This led me to Google about shedding and the first thing I read was how they eat their skin. YUCK. It grossed me out and sure enough, an hour later, only the shape of legs remained......

Lily now has a new leg (one had been cut off somehow before) and little wings. She went for a kindy visit today and the kids loved her!!!

A Gorgeous Day....

It's been a shit of a week!!!! I've been sick again and had a migraine from hell over the weekend ~ not nice. That involves me lying in a dark room, bashing my head and vomitting. Then, once it goes, I have a hangover feeling for a few days.

Today's the first non-groggy day, so Kara and I went to the beach (for a swim) for the first time in ages. I LOVE summer weather!!!!! Back to 19 tomorrow but up to the 30s by the end of the week, so more beach visits coming up :)

My girl is growing up so fast. She's changed so much of late ~ both in her behaviour and her appearance. I feel like I'm the luckiest mummy in the world.

Oh, I still suck at using my new camera :( I've borrowed some books but that's as far as I've got. It's starting to frustrate me now and I still pull out my point and shoot :P

A Bowl of Water

Yesterday, Kara took a bowl of water outside and played with it for about an hour lmao. The bowl has an attached straw, so she sat there blowing bubbles, having an occassional sip. She thought it was the best fun ~ until she spilt it all over herself LMFAO. Look at her face in the last pic :P

Happy Birthday to Our Little Man...

Well, Tanya would debate who Evan belongs too :P but I think Kara may win that argument lmao.

Evan had his 5th Birthday Party yesterday (he turns 5 this week) and the kids all had a ball. Kara thought she was the luckiest kid in the world when we ended up having a sleepover there and even luckier when Evan came home with us!!!

So Divine!!!

There's some loony stalking my blog at the moment so I thought I'd continue posting, just so they can continue sending me lame messages to make them feel better :) There really are some very very sad people in cyberspace ~ some who need to 'move on' as I've been told many times by them.

I dropped in to Ow's place yesterday cos it had been a while and OMG how cute is this baby!!! Ted is just growing so fast and I couldn't believe how much of a liking to her Mummy the first photo is HAHAHAHA...... I didn't get pics of the other kids ~ Raph was too busy eating whatever she could find outside (she is sooooo cute!!!) and Bruno runs when I get the camera out.

Yayyyyy ~ The looooong Weekend is OVER :P

Well, I don't really care what some people think ~ I am SO happy that the long weekend is over. My girl is home where she belongs (:P) and both of us are rapt. She hasn't stopped cuddling and smooching and I have heard "I love you Mummy" more in 48 hours than ever before. Thankfully the next long stay isn't until term 1 school holidays when Kara will be much more used to weekends and it won't be such of a big deal for her.

Thanks to those who understood the challenge of last weekend ~ you more than made up for the lovely anon comment left LMAO!!!

Anyway, today we went to the zoo with some friends and it was fabbo. I took my new camera and totally suck at taking pics so far but got some OK ones. I've looked into courses to learn how to use it but no can do ~ they are at really odd times. I'm off ot the library this week to find some DSLR books for Dummies!!!

I am a Blues supporter BUT I have always had a soft spot for the cats.... to think that all of the supporters my age and 10 years older have NEVER seen their team win a Grand Final...... I hope they see it today!!!!!!!

Have You Ever Hated?

My guess is you know where there is heading.....

I am being quite serious though ~ have you ever truly hated a person. Have you ever just thought of a person and thought nothing but ill feelings ~ nothing but harm toward them?

I thought I had previously. There was a man in my life who I truly despised (and still do). I didn't think I could dislike anybody more than he but then Kara's father stepped up a gear.

I have a friend who thinks it's awful to feel such a way toward another human being and I suppose she is right. It's not a good way to be BUT how do you lessen it? How do you think about somebody who you would literally like to see under a bus in a positive light? Maybe not even a positive light ~ just not such a negative one? How do you do this when you honestly see nothing but negativity when you think, see or hear of them? How do you not hate a person who hurts your child?

I know I will never forgive Kara's father for what he has put us through. I will never be able to forget the hurt he has caused my child, all because of his "right". I don't think I could keep up this amount of hatred for him either, not without it running me into the ground. So how do I get rid of it? I often think that maybe it will ease when he starts putting Kara first but he just doesn't. He is a manipulating, controlling, selfish prick and if I ever am going to feel differently about him, it's going to take a lot of work.

She has just left for an extended weekend because it's a public holiday here and it's his right ~ it doesn't matter that she still hates 2 nights. I will probably reread this later and think WTF did I type that for LOL but it's what I'm feeling right now and I need to release a little.......

When all of this court stuff is over, I am going to do something in the field which helps others in our situation. I have no idea how but I will do something ~ something needs to change these new legislations because my child is being used as a guinea pig.

My Little Doctor.....

With some of the ideas that Kara's been coming out with lately, I wouldn't be surprised if she really was one of these one day LMAO :P

At kindy this week, there's been a medical station set up LOL and it's the first thing Kara runs too. It is just soooooo cute. She gets all decked out and then walks around the kindy announcing she "needs patients". A couple of game kids usually accept her offer and then she gets to work. It really is just so bloody gorgeous :)

On the court front, we had it again today. It was a so called "Dispute Resolution" conference, which translated means..... organise care for Kara in the middle of the day, turn up and leave because her father is an absolute toss*r. He apparently ( I requested separate rooms so I didn't have to hear his crap) was not interested in negotiating on any level. WHYYYYYY did he even turn up then??? Because he is dumb :P

I'm feeling OK though. My friends and Mum have all been so great and supportive, as they can see the strain this whole situation has caused and tonight, I got home to a lovely message from my step brother which made my week~ thanks Sam..... it meant more than you could imagine xxxx

Those who know me know I am obsessed with Ebay ~ mainly for Kara's clothing but it doesn't stop there. Some nights, I will try to think of something I neeeed just to get that buying buzz. I would go so far as saying it's an addiction and I am hooked.

Do You Think She Likes Her?

Well, Kara loves her bug LMAO. She has named her Lily and we got her out of her tank today ~ I thought she might be a little apprehensive but nooooooo. Not only did she hold her, but she let her climb her face, head, legs and arms LOL. She thought it was hilarious when Lily decided to climb onto the lens of my camera too :P

Ohhhhh and I finally purchased a DSLR camera. Don't ask me how to use it yet LOL ~ I am enquiring about courses this week. These are some of the first pics I have got from it and I have so much to learn. It will be great though, as I need something to focus on to keep my mind busy.

On the court front, we are back on Wednesday. I don't even know what for anymore ~ it's all too confusing and even when you think you're prepared, you turn up and nothing happens or things happen that weren't planned. It's a bit of a joke really ~ it makes me want to do something to help others who are going through it who don't have the support that I do. Even with support it's a nightmare, so without must be unbearable.
