About two years ago, I bought a chair, table and footstool set for Kara's bedroom. It was exactly what I wanted but it needed some work... the paint was crappy and the fabric on the chair was blah. I've been wanting to paint them and recover the chair since the day it came home...... well, I finally did it today pmsl.
In our old place, Kara had a feature wall and she's been nagging to have it here also ~ I painted it today and inbetween coats, did the chair and table..... within 4 hours, the lot was done. Amazing what you can do once you decide to do it....
Here is the result.... I made the quilt and covered the chair in the larger floral. I just looooove it!!!
I looooove the cupboard in the corner ~ it was an Ebay bargain that I did up and added the fabric to....

her room is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! lucky girl. :)
How beautiful!! You have done a really good job. It has made me realise I must get on and do my daughters room, that has been waiting about two years aswell (ha ha).
Aw thanks guys :) :)
Seriously Tabitha ~ just painting one wall makes so much difference and it doesn't take long at all AND I just bought 3 sample pots LOL, so it was really inexpensive too!

I have come across your blog through Sheye's blog.
What a gorgeous touch of mummy magic. Kara's room is beautiful and so special because you made lots of the pieces in it. You are so very clever and creative.
Kara, wishing you lots of sweet dreams in your beautiful room.
I'm in the process of creating my little girls new room. She is moving out of her cot and into her bed and new room. We then have to transform our very pink nursery into a blue one for our little boy who is due at the end of June. I can't wait to start decorating the rooms.
Hi Vanessa, you have given me the push that I needed (I just keep putting it off), to get Laurens room done, am going paint shopping at the weekend (would rather go clothes shopping, but it has to be done!!!). Thanks for the nice comment you left on my blog, it is so nice to meet new people (via the internet), from the other side of the world. I look forward to keeping in touch with you via your blog.
Warm wishes,
Tabitha X
Wow it's beautiful. I agree we painted a few feature walls and they make the room feel so warm.
Grrr I can't believe you have only been there a few weeks and your have Kara's room looking gorgeous! I need to pull my finger out and fix my girls up.
Hi Vanessa,
I came across your blog through Sheye's.
Kara's room is just gorgeous. How clever are you?
I hope your precious darling has many wonderful dreams in her very girlie and charming room.
Best regards. XXXXOOOO
Oh Vanessa it looks gorgeous.
Where did you get her bed from, I love it, although because Kitty's my last baby I'm not letting her out of her cot until she's 7 LOL.
Seriously though can you buy them in stores or is it a restored antique?
I tried to help paint our little unit when we got married and I got told to put the roller down and back away from the room. I was hopeless. had it everywhere but the walls.
Oh Vanessa!!!!!
That looks SOOOO WONDERFUL!!!! You are one clever Mummy!!!!!!!!!!
