2007....

Well, to say I'm glad there are only 2 days left is a massive understatement. Whilst, thankfully, Kara and I have had our health and have managed to get through the stress of the ongoing court case, so many people around us have suffered so terribly and continue to do so. The beginning of a new year won't heal that but it does give me an incentive to strive for new things and enjoy my time with Kara unconditionally.

The big thing I have learnt from this year is to open your eyes to the people that are surrounding and there for you. I have been shocked by those who have offered their support to us ~ people who are 'new' friends in our lives but who have given so much of their time and offered so much emotional support. I am so grateful, especially when those you think will be there are not.

So, to everyone in blogger land, I wish you all the very best for the new year.

Kara and Moni

I just love these two pics of Kara and her friend Monique. They were taken last week and they girls were both so happy to see each other ~ kindy had finished and it had been a whole 5 days apart LOL.

Hoping you all had a Merry Christmas xxx

The End of Kindy :(

My baby girl finished Kindy last week and I think it was as hard on her as it was on her Mummy!!! She just adored going to kindy and although she'll miss it soooo much, she is more than ready for school and the excitement for that is starting to build. I am going to cherish the time I have with her for the next 6 weeks even more than usual ~ I just cannot believe she'll be a school girl after that.

Kara couldn't believe her luck when I told her that her new man (!!!!) was going to be at the same school as her next year. She went to kindy with his younger brother but Ty has won her over because he's bigger and can give her piggy backs LMFAO. I love this pic ~ I think because at the time the kids were having so much fun.

Good Luck Danielle......

..... Noel and Maddy. I am thinking of you sooooo much for tomorrow.

You, all 3 of you, more than anybody, deserve the little person that is about to become part of your family and he has hit the jackpot too......

Loads of Love to you

Makeup on My Girl....

ARGHHHH

This is what I have been dreading about Kara being involved in Ballet..... the concert and the horrid makeup.

Apparently, it's important for 4 and 5 year olds to wear red lipstick, green or blue eyeshadow and foundation. I just don't get it and I hate it. Everybody keeps saying it looks horrid close up and great on stage but I think the girls would look great on stage without it pmsl.

Anyway, the concert is in 2 weeks and it's so full on. They have 3 full dress rehearsals, one photography makeup shoot (ummmmm.......) and then the night before, they do the whole thing at the theatre where the big night happens. I really am surprised by the enormity of it. I'm hoping Kara's not worn out before the big night ~ as it is, she falls over when she's dancing LMFAO.

Tonight, we found some red lipstick (an Avon sample that Kara has now claimed due to its size) and Kara wanted a practice run. She LOVED it. She puckered, stared and pranced around like she was a queen. She's worn lippy before but never bright red........she's so divine :)

We then went on to trying on the sports uniform for her school visit tomorrow. She loved that just as much ~ my baby is growing up too fast.

How she likes to wear it..... :P

Carols in the Park

This year is Kara's first Christmas morning away from home and she's not all that impressed, so we are trying to focus on all the things that surround the big Christmas morning....trying to take the focus off of the 25th.

Last night, we went to a smaller Carols by Candlelight near my Mum's place and Kara LOVED it. Mainly because she got to eat huge amounts of rubbish, but I think she enjoyed the rest a little too..... the atmosphere at events like this is fabulous for kids and I was so glad I had my girl this weekend to be able to take her :)

I love this pic of Kara and her Grandpa ~ thanks so much for giving her a positive male influence in her life Grandpa. She loves you so much xxxx

The Christmas beetle that left Nanna having heart palpitations HAHAHAHAHA :P

Keeping Busy....

We've had a really rough week and it's left my girl a little flat ~ poor baby. She's not been her cheery self, so every day has been jammed packed in an attempt to take her mind from other things. Today, we went to see The Bee Movie and then Kara made her first cake(s) all by herself. She did it all (apart from the oven stuff) and she was sooooo proud of herself. Mummy was proud too.... We do a lot of cooking but she usually helps ~ today the kitchen was hers :)

We also had the kindy christmas 'concert' this week. It was sooo adorable ~ half of the kids had no idea what they were doing which made it even cuter! With only 2 weeks left of Kindy life, reality has hit Kara and she's decided school won't be that great after all LOL I'm hoping the excitement returns before the term does :)

Our Santa visit ROCKED this year!!! He was such a cool santa. He let me take as many pics as I wanted (not many places do that here now ~ you have to pay the min $24 package) which I was rapt about because the 'professional' ones we get always seem so unprofessional looking. Kara was so brave ~ she's not the biggest fan of Santa when he's in front of her lmfao. (She is in love with her red beads and massive bow... somethings I don't bother arguing about anymore).

Finally, I took the girls to the beach yesterday ~ they were too cute. We're loving this hot weather and this will be one of the many beach visits yet to come in the coming months...

I love you baby girl ~ so very much. xxxxxxxxxxooooooooooo

The BEST Feeling.....

Have you ever lost touch with somebody that you just wanted to find??? Somebody that represents such an important stage of your life ~ such a positive part of your life?

I have and it's taken me 15 years but I found her ~ thanks to FACEBOOK!!!!!

When I was 5 and younger, my parents were together (they divorced after that) and across the road, there was another family we saw a lot of at that time. They had a little girl, Belinda, who was my age and we almost lived at eachother's homes. We had sleepovers, baths, started school together ~ I've just never forgotten her. Since I was 16, I've tried to find her. I just wanted to know where she was at and touch base. I tried everywhere ~ I sent heaps of emails, rang people with her surname, went onto various internet sites blah blah blah ~ I started to think she may have changed her surname via marriage and it was never going to happen.

THEN, the other night, Eden was talking about facebook. I joined up and thought it was stupid lmfao. I still don't get many aspects of it ~ pokes, drinks and the like. The first thing I did though, was type in Belinda's name. With a common surname, there were a few but I knew her birthdate and I found her. I cannot begin to explain what it was like to see her for the first time in over 20 years!!!!! I sent her a message and now we're catching up on lost time.

So thanks FACEBOOK!! Whilst a lot of it still makes no sense :P it's done something for me that is just so so important.

Happy Birthday to Me :P

Well, despite the start of the day being awful, the day ended up being great!!!!

We went to Nanna's and Grandpa's for cake and food etc. and great Nanna is also down from Melbourne. Kara was in her element ~ she looooooved playing marbles and eating as much junk as possible and the game of throwing popcorn into her mouth was a hit!!!! (pics below....)

We then put up the Christmas Tree and Kara did the traditional thing of adding the angel last.... she did ours last night too.

Thanks Mum and Grandpa for making my birthday a great one ~ my angel had a ball too and she needed that today xxxxx

How Can This Be? :P

I cannot believe that I bought a school uniform for my 'baby' today. Since Kara was born, on numerous occassions, I have had people saying "she'll be at school before you know it". I've always hated people saying it lol, mainly because I knew it was true and I just want to enjoy her day by day and not look too far ahead.

Well today, we visited her school and the uniform shop and bought her dress(es) and hat. She looked at the shorts/t shirts and suggested we buy 2 dresses because she has no plans on wearing the other "ugly" items PMSL.

So, in just over 60 sleeps, the little person I met just over 5 years ago will be starting the massive school journey and I just cannot believe it. It's so true ~ she will be at school before I know it and I wish it slowed down just a little... for both of us.

What a Week!

Kara and I arrived home from Queensland last night and now, my girl is on the couch with some gastric bug ~ YUK! It's the first gastric illness Kara has had ~ she's more a ears, nose and throat kid. For the latter, I am so grateful. I cannot stand vomit lmfao.

The Holiday was BRILLIANT! We arrived on the Monday night to find we were in the same room as last year, and for the following 4 nights we were moved to a larger one. Kara loved it, as the second room had bunks, so she was in her element! We visited Dreamworld, Whitewater World and Seaworld.

My baby finally got to live her dream (well, the dream she has had since she was 2....) ~ she had the opportunity to swim with a dolphin!!!! She had to be 5 and 110 cm tall and she JUST made both of those! It was such a special time to see my girl thoroughly enjoy something she has wanted for so long. The pics aren't that great ~ we (parents) were on an odd angle and too far away to get anything great... it was soooo frustrating!

Another hit was the mini golf (or little golf as Kara kept saying ) at the resort... there was one hole which proved too difficult, so Kara invented her own technique to deal with it.

At Dreamworld, we had the chance to pat the tiger cubs. OMG they are soooo cute!!!! Kara was infulenced somewhat by them and was a tiger for the rest of the day ~ that involved lots of roaring and licking.... don't ask :P

We ended our trip at Sue and Mark's resort!!!!! Seriously, their place is amazing ~ I just love it there and am so grateful that we could stay a couple of nights. The girls had a blast and Tim is a sweety (even though he wouldn't let me get a single pic......). Kara got a taste of the good life ~ thanks so so much for having us guys xxxx

I have about 300 more photos lmfao but I think I have posted more than enough :P

Feeling Sorry For Myself Tonight :P

Tomorrow is the Christmas Pageant in Adelaide and I have been waiting for 5 years to take my baby ~ she just wasn't interested in going last year and the plan was to go this year BUT her father just picked her up for the weekend.....

It's times like these when I really do find it difficult. Instead of taking my baby to the Pageant to experience it with her, he gets to do it and a woman whom I don't even know gets to share Kara's joy. I know it's selfish but I just don't care ~ it's just so difficult and not right. I hate missing out on things like this with Kara ~ it's stuff I should be able to share with her and no, I don't think he deserves to. (Before one of the nasty cows that I know reads this says anything, YES I should be happy that Kara gets to go......).

If you think this is a negative post (:P) wait until she's not here on Christmas morning..... I'm still in denial.

My Princess

I know I've posted a lot of birthday pics but Kara is in love with this dress and I'm glad I got these pics because after her party, it doesn't look the same :( The whole tree climbing thing made sure of that LOL.

(if you click it, it will be larger!!!)

Miss K's 5th Birthday Party....

I am EXHAUSTED!!!!!

Kara had her birthday party today and whilst it's taken all of my energy, it really was such a good day :)

We started it a little later this year to avoid lunch ~ I much rather make heaps of junk food and platters for parents than lunch... the latter is too hard LOL. Up until an hour before it started, it was raining and I, of course, was stressing.... the backyard was covered in plastic lmao but fortunately it wasn't needed.

We wanted something different this year ~ something away from the face painting etc. We decided on having an animal company visit and I HIGHLY recommend it!!! We had an owl, snake, possums, ferret, gecko, squirrel gliders (with babies!!!) and a rabbit! Kara just loved it being the little animal lover she is!!!

The kids also made glitter masks, fought over a pinata (!!!) and had a ball in the jumping castle and new trampoline.

So baby girl, I hope you had as much fun as you seemed to have! I love you loads. Happy Birthday Gorgeous xxxx

Some of The Animals!

The Food!!! Note the Jelly Cups ~ they took fricking ages LOL
